TinyCue Privacy Policy

TinyCue ("TinyCue," "we," "us") is a habit-tracking app for iPhone, developed by an independent, individual developer ("we," "our"). This policy explains what data TinyCue handles, why, and where it goes. We wrote it to match exactly what the app does — not a generic template.

The short version: TinyCue has no account, no sign-in, and no server of its own. Your habits live on your iPhone and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud storage. We never see your data, and we never sell it to anyone, because we have no way to receive it in the first place.

1. Information TinyCue does not collect

There is no TinyCue account. TinyCue never asks for your name, email address, phone number, or a password, and has no sign-in screen of any kind. We do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not use any third-party analytics or advertising SDK — there is no Firebase, no Google Analytics, no ad network, nothing that phones home to a company other than Apple's own frameworks described below.

2. Information TinyCue stores on your device

Everything you enter — habits, schedules, completions, notes, streaks, and settings — is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's on-device storage (SwiftData). This is the single source of truth for your data; nothing about your habits is required to leave your device for the app to work.

3. iCloud backup (private, automatic, no account)

If you're signed into iCloud on your device, TinyCue silently mirrors your local data to your own private iCloud database (Apple's CloudKit, private database only — never a shared or public one) so it survives a reinstall or transfers to a new iPhone. This is:

• Automatic. There's no separate TinyCue account to create — it uses the iCloud sign-in already on your device.
• Private to you. We do not have access to this data. Apple's standard iCloud encryption and access controls apply, the same as any other app's private CloudKit container.
• Optional in effect. If you're not signed into iCloud, or disable iCloud for TinyCue, the app works entirely offline from local storage.

4. Apple Health (read-only, never written)

If you choose to connect Apple Health, TinyCue reads your walking and running workouts only so a habit like "Morning Walk" can fill in automatically instead of you logging it by hand.

• TinyCue never writes, edits, or deletes anything in Apple Health. The permission we request is read-only; we do not use the "share" side of HealthKit's permission at all.
• This data is read on-device, used to fill in your local habit progress, and is never transmitted anywhere by TinyCue.
• You control this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.

5. Location (optional, Plus feature, arrival only)

TinyCue can optionally use your location to notice when you arrive at a place you've saved for a habit (for example, "the gym") and ask you to confirm you'd like to log it. This is:

• Opt-in, per habit, only if you choose to add a place-based cue.
• Confirm-only. Arriving at a saved place never logs a habit by itself — TinyCue always asks first.
• Not shared. Your location is processed on your device to compare against places you've saved; TinyCue does not transmit your location to us or to anyone else, and does not build a location history.
• Controllable at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.

6. Motion data (on-device only)

TinyCue can use your iPhone's on-device motion data (Core Motion) to notice movement consistent with a habit like walking. This processing happens entirely on your device. Raw motion data is never transmitted off your iPhone, to us or anyone else, under any circumstance.

7. Diagnostics you choose to export

Settings includes an optional "Export Diagnostics" tool for troubleshooting. It builds a technical summary on your device — things like counts of records and app configuration, not the content of your habits — and hands it to iOS's own share sheet. Nothing is sent automatically; you choose where it goes (Mail, Files, AirDrop, or wherever you direct it), exactly like sharing a photo. TinyCue has no server that receives this file automatically.

8. Purchases (TinyCue Plus)

If you subscribe to TinyCue Plus, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details — no card number, no billing address. TinyCue only receives confirmation from Apple of whether you currently hold an active subscription, which it uses to unlock Plus features.

9. Apple Watch and widgets

If you use the TinyCue Watch app or a home-screen widget, the data they show comes from your iPhone via Apple's own on-device mechanisms (WatchConnectivity between your paired devices, and a local snapshot file shared only between TinyCue and its widget on the same iPhone). None of this involves a third party or leaves your own devices.

10. Deleting your data

Settings → Delete All Data removes your habits, completions, streaks, programs, saved places, preferences, and locally stored diagnostic files from your device immediately. A few things are deliberately left alone:

• Your Apple Health data is never touched — it belongs to Health, not TinyCue, and other apps may read or write it.
• Your iCloud sign-in itself is unaffected — deleting TinyCue's data does not sign you out of iCloud.
• If you use iCloud backup, the private-iCloud copy of your data is deleted as part of the same action, but that deletion can take a little time to finish propagating — TinyCue cannot instantly confirm the moment it completes.
• Data already captured in an iPhone backup made before you deleted it will remain in that backup until the backup itself is replaced or deleted.

11. Children's privacy

TinyCue is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since TinyCue has no account or sign-in, we have no mechanism to knowingly collect anyone's identity in the first place.

12. Your rights

Because TinyCue keeps everything on your device (and your own private iCloud), you already hold your data directly — there is no separate company database to request access to or correction of. You can export a technical diagnostic snapshot at any time (§7) and delete everything at any time (§10). 13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for any material change, note it in the app's "What's New" release notes.
